2021 Taiwan Ecotourism Association Founding Review Video
The Taiwan Ecotourism Association has been in existence for twenty years since its establishment in 2001. This article features interviews with Professor Chen Zhangbo and Professor Wang Xin, two of the association's founding leaders, as well as its three past presidents: Chairman Gao Zhiming, Chairman Yan Rende, and Chairman Guo Chengmeng. This article reviews the progress made in promoting ecotourism in Taiwan over the past twenty years.
2020 Myth, Opening a Dialogue on Travel
In conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications' Tourism Bureau's "2020 Backbone Mountain Tourism Year," the Alishan National Scenic Area Administration invited Taiwanese-based Japanese photographer Kengo Kobayashi to experience one of our ecotourism itineraries. Through his meticulous perspective, Kobayashi captures the beauty of Alishan's ecology and the splendor of Tsou mythology. Alishan is home to a rich and mysterious collection of Tsou myths. We welcome everyone to visit Alishan and experience the beauty of Tsou culture and hear the legends of these myths.
2020 "Good Zou Road" Backbone Mountain Ecotourism - Starting from Alishan
In response to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications' Tourism Bureau's "2020 Backbone Mountain Tourism Year," we began organizing the "Backbone Mountain Ecotourism: Starting from Alishan" program in 2017. Alishan is one of Taiwan's five major mountain ranges, its majestic presence echoing the neighboring 3,000-meter-high Yushan Mountain Range. The Alishan area has been the home of the Tsou people for thousands of years. This short film showcases the natural beauty of Alishan's environment and trails, as well as the unique ecotourism characteristics of the Tsou tribe. Focusing on Tsou culture, the film uses the lives and daily lives of three protagonists to explore various aspects of Tsou culture, including hunting grounds, ancient trails and ecology, rituals, food, and the art of coexisting with nature. The film aims to connect with the audience, evoke resonance, and inspire a yearning for the experience.
2019 AEN Ecotourism Conference Technical Inspection Visits ─Alishan Tsou Villages
The Taiwan Ecotourism Association (TEA) and the Asian Ecotourism Alliance (AEN) held the "2019 International Symposium on Alpine and Indigenous Ecotourism" on January 19, 2019. Following the symposium, they visited the Alishan Tsou Tribe and the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area for a three-day visit and inspection.
During the three-day visit, you'll visit the Alishan Tsou tribes of Dabang, Tefuye, Leye, and Laiji, where you'll sample their delicacies and experience their culture. In the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, you'll ride the miniature train, follow the Giant Tree Trail, and visit the Ogasawara Mountain Platform.
