Welcome to join the Taiwan Ecotourism Association!

The Association is a non-profit, legally established social organization. Its mission is to promote the preservation of the natural environment, enhance ecological awareness, improve the quality of life for the people, and promote tourism activities under the principles of environmental sustainability. To protect your rights, please read the Association's Articles of Association carefully before registering. By clicking the "Join Membership" button online, you will become a member of the Association and enjoy all services provided on this website. You also agree to abide by the Membership Rules. Membership requires completing an application form, which will be reviewed and approved. Members must pay dues in accordance with the Articles of Association to become full members.

There are five types of members in the Association:

  1. Individual members: Those who agree with the purpose of the association, are 20 years of age or above, and have the nationality and legal capacity of the Republic of China.
  2. Corporate members: Any government-registered company, agency or group that agrees with the purpose of the association.
  3. Student members: Those who agree with the purpose of the association, are under 20 years old, and have the nationality of the Republic of China.
  4. Sponsoring Member: A group or individual who sponsors the Association.
  5. Honorary Member: An individual, foreign national or group who has made outstanding contributions to the mission of the Association.

Distinction between individual, group and associate members

  1. Fees: Individual members pay a first-year initiation fee and annual dues totaling NT$1,500, with annual dues of NT$1,000 each year thereafter. Group members pay a first-year initiation fee and annual dues totaling NT$10,000 each, with annual dues of NT$10,000 each year thereafter. Student members pay a first-year initiation fee and annual dues totaling NT$500, with annual dues of NT$300 each year thereafter.
  2. Benefits: Members will enjoy priority participation in activities organized by the Association; emails with the latest information on ecotourism will be sent from time to time; and manufacturers will provide member-exclusive benefits.
  3. Members' Meeting: Individual members participate in the annual Members' Meeting and exercise the rights to vote, elect, be elected, and recall. Each member has one right. Group members may nominate two representatives to exercise group membership rights. Group member representatives have the rights to vote, elect, be elected, and recall. Each representative has one right. Student members, sponsoring members, and honorary members do not have the rights mentioned in the preceding paragraph.

Member Obligations and Responsibilities

  1. Members are obliged to abide by the Association's constitution, resolutions and pay membership dues.
  2. Members agree and guarantee not to publish, post or transmit any text, images or any form of files on the Taiwan Ecotourism website that are defamatory, untrue, threatening, indecent, obscene, illegal, offensive, libellous or infringing on the intellectual property rights of others. Otherwise, the Association has the right to delete them.
  3. Members agree not to engage in advertising or selling products on the Taiwan Ecotourism website.
  4. Members agree to refrain from discussing private matters in public discussion areas and to respect the rights and privacy of others when posting articles.
  5. Members agree to fully respect copyright and refrain from publishing text, images, or any other form of files that infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
  6. All works and materials on this website, including copyright, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, other intellectual property rights, ownership rights, or other rights, are owned by the Taiwan Ecotourism Association or its rights holders. Members may not reproduce, transmit, adapt, edit, or use them in any other form or for any purpose without prior authorization from the Taiwan Ecotourism Association or its rights holders. Failure to do so will result in full legal liability.

Withdrawal or loss of membership

  1. Members may withdraw from the Association by stating the reasons in writing.
  2. Anyone who fails to pay membership dues in accordance with the Articles of Association for two consecutive years will be deemed to have automatically withdrawn from the Association.
  3. If a member (member representative) violates laws, the charter, or fails to comply with the resolution of the general membership meeting, the board of directors may decide to give him a warning or suspend his membership. If the damage caused to the group is serious, he may be expelled by the general membership meeting.
  4. A member who loses his membership or is expelled by a resolution of the general meeting of members shall be deemed to have left the association.
